Huawei Ascend W2 To Be Presented At MWC 2013

After the company released its first Windows Phone smartphone at CES 2013 this year, Huawei will present the second Windows Phone smartphone at the Mobile World Congress 2013, the Huawei Ascend W2, and a phone that will come with a better hardware platform.

We’ve already seen Huawei’s Ascend W1, which should be its affordable Windows Phone 8 device. And now photos of an alleged Huawei W2 have showed up. The W2 seems to be Huawei’s flagship WP8 handset. It certainly looks high-end, and we can see it has an 8MP rear camera with dual LED flash. Unfortunately, the rest of its features are not known. But I assume the display is an HD one, and its processor a dual core unit.

The W1 is expected to be officially announced at CES 2013 in January, so the W2 might be unveiled then, too. While Huawei will launch the W1 for around $300, the W2 is definitely going to be more expensive. It remains to be seen just how expensive. The estimated price is $515 and this is a pretty good price considering the phone’s technical specifications.

Specs:

According to the latest rumors, the upcoming Huawei Ascend W2 will be the thinnest Windows Phone 8 smartphone, and it’s case will have a thickness of only 7,8 mm. The display will have a size of 4,5 inches, HD resolution, and the touchscreen can be used even if you’re wearing gloves ( same as the Lumia flagship ).The hardware platform will include a dual core processor, 1 GB of RAM memory, 16 GB of internal storage space, 8 MP photo / video camera, and a battery with a capacity of 2,800 mAh.
